No Happy Endings

Generally I stay away from politics in my writing. However, this contest came up that called for an acrostic poem with the theme of , "No happy Endings." and before I knew it I was writing about Obama Care or the Affordable Care Act. I voted for President Obama and have agreed with most of what he has done, but I believe that he has missed the mark with this legislation. His intentions were good but the plan was put into place without fully considering how it would effect those it was intended to help. The legislation was also put into place before all the nuts and bolts details were worked out. Obama Care has hurt more than it has helped. With all that being said I present to you "No Happy Endings" As always comments are welcome. Dialogue is a beautiful part art and poetry. The art work I have added is to show that the blame for the failure of this legislation is to be shared on both sides of the aisle.

No happy endings
or fence mendings.
Healthcare affordable is here to stay.
At least that is what the pollsters say.

Pain is coming.
People are drumming.
Yes men are on the way.
Everyone is running away.

Never a doubt.
Doubters are cast out.
Instead the yes men remain,
never moving from their domain.

Going forward with the lie,
"Stay with us or else you'll die."
