Alone
Not Lonely
Alone
Is not lonely
You can be lonely
with another
You can feel abandoned
Even if you are included
You can be crazy
And act perfectly sane.
I want to love alone
Get to be friends with itÂ
Get to admire the beautyÂ
Of isolationÂ
stretches of time
where there is no real touch
Television is false light
It has no warmth
It doesn't care
If you are dead or alive
I am cool with that
I am alone

I think there is a difference between feeling lonely and being alone. You don't have to feel lonely when being on your own, sometimes alone feels good. Loneliness can happen anywhere and a bustling city can actually heighten the feeling of loneliness. Alone is a state of being where as loneliness is a state of mind. Wow...your poem has me thinking! 5 well earned stars x

Alone is freedom to be. To move in your own space at your own pace with your own grace. Such freedom is not commonplace.
