Lonely Night

Lonely Night

     It started by watching a movie
somehow I heard a good song
a couple of beers, a moment of tears but still I was going strong
     I had a few thoughts I can call my own for as long as the memory keeps
let’s me know my mind is growing, sure beats counting sheep
     Halted by an hour of confusion
prompted by that moment of joy
lost in my own disallusion, I searched for the words to employ 
     Would I find a release, could I open that door, was the land anywhere in sight
All I could do was try and get through it

through the pain of a lonely night.
