The Great Greenness

Seems that everything is
cancelled
Summer fetes and Sunday lunch
Beach days and Beach balls,

Christmastime, Holidays,
Snowball fights and Phone calls

Yet still, the great greenness
goes endlessly on
orange and yellowing, turning
to brown
spiking up new shoots
without me around,
so maybe I too am cancelled
 for indefinite time
because search as I may, no new
Iawn can be found
