Over The Balcony

Over The Balcony

Over The Balcony
we standĀ
like a Cesar orĀ
a Napoleon
looking down
at those who areĀ
different fromĀ
us

Filled with Ethnocentrism
it seeps through our skin
and lingers fromĀ
our breath
Creating a self-made
imperialistĀ
A birth mark
that comes from
being born

Though ourĀ  morals
tells us we are in the
wrongĀ
the stenchĀ
is still
thereĀ
it cannotĀ
be washed out
cleansedĀ
or removed

The natural
thought of
being superior
will not go
away
it's there
even among
the most humanitarian
soulsĀ

it's our stigma
originating
from being
human

It is our curse
Ā
