Poem -

write me in colours

Pen Poised
paper oiled
Well, what are you waiting
To write
he just said

I'm waiting for coloursĀ
to flow to my head so
I don't have to write
Once Again
that you're dead

But how am I deadĀ
if i'm still here with you
But I could be mad ??
he said sadĀ
And not true!

He said
write with the colours
you see all around
don't write with such grey
because I'm in the ground
He said...really...

You know
that I've not gone away
So write me in colours
I'd like it that way...

and we hugged...

When I think of death or dying I don't tend to think in black or dark terms or tones but often in colours without names ..Ā I have even written about it/them x

You know, about a year after he'd gone I was walking in the woods and I distinctly heard him say
'look at the colours mam'
Crazy?? ...but true none the less.Ā
Writing in colours is still so hard to do.
I may have missed yours? What are the titles? x
