Tombstone Raven (Sonnet)

Tombstone Raven (Sonnet)

In shadows deep, where raven perched on stone,
A silent sentinel of night's embrace,

With eyes that gleam in darkness, all alone,

A haunting presence in this sacred place.

Its feathers black as midnight's cloak unfurled,

Its caw a mournful echo through the air,

A watcher of the graves, its wings unfurled,

A guardian of the souls that linger there.

Oh tombstone raven, keeper of the past,

What secrets do you hold within your gaze?

Do you bear witness to the lives amassed,

In this eternal resting place of days?

With solemn grace, you guard the silent dead,

A timeless sentinel, with wings outspread.

Just reading your writings. Gee, you give me nightmares, Brett, however, you have great lines in your poetry. Happy (spooky) writings. 😄
