Where Time Really Does Stand Still

Where Time Really Does Stand Still

Ā
My most favorite clockĀ
is the one that lives in my attic Ā
it’s really old and doesn't have handsĀ
ironically time, took its tollĀ

I don't mind though
sometimes I go up just to see it
not ticking and not moving

I sit and reflect
on the fact
time is literally standing stillĀ

at least that is what
I want to believeĀ
and every moment that passesĀ
I feel i'm cheating time itselfĀ
having a deep love affair
with denialĀ
all the while knowing
that sooner or laterĀ
i'll have to leave my beloved clockĀ
and go back down to where life still moves and the chimes
still make an entrance on the hour every hour

but for now, just for the next few minutesĀ
i'll sit quietly reflecting in my moment of stillness
Ā
where time really does stand still.
Ā

Such a peaceful one. I can perfectly relate.
Those moments that are ours alone, truly ours when time really does stand still. Thankyou for sharing a personal moment in a beautifully written piece x
