The Stillness of Solitude

The hawk and the cloud compete in the vast indigo sky
as if each one is seeking solitude, where any intruder is frowned upon.
For, what is solitude if not the desire to feel the entire universe
belongs to one and one alone,
If only for those moments where we get lost in the wilderness of the Self.
On the ground the hawk and the cloud will meet again
when the drenched hawk can no longer fly, and the cloud becomes rain.
In solitude you and I will meet, but weâll not compete,
there is enough room for your soul and mine among the stars
where quietness will not be perturbed, the silence not disturbed,
and peace will be completed and intruded nevermore.Â

Excellent write, I really enjoyed reading this piece.
Great work Bernadete. This is unique. I love how you depict the desire for oneness being conquered by the primordial sky it seeks, before you reveal how there is so much more to be discovered outside of isolation. A love to share, that is true elevation.Â
Infinity infinity infinity... should it exist... it must do I think because there are more people dead than ever alive at one time. Great write B x

Intriguing & correspondingly very deep to the point where I feel out of my depth .. yet curiously compelling too .. NevilleÂ
Out of your depth? You? Never!
Your capability is way, wayâŚâŚ.  But what a nice thing to do, Neville. Coming over here and spilling dandelions all over my poem. Shucks!!!Â
Oh' ye of too much faith .. had I not run out of dosh, they would have been orchids, or roses .. NÂ
That's so much heartwarming . . . never cold in winter nor harmattan.
I just imaginatively envisioned myself in a solitude place, with stillness waiting for goodness to unfold.
What makes us a family, and different from the outside world? As writers we know what it means to stay solitude and imagine things becoming real in a world that do not exist.
Well spoken, Isaac! Your words are beautiful and full of meaning. You are so right.Â
I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. You are more than welcome, Poet.Â
Aww, shucks! (again).
Even a little bouquet of wild flowers make my day.Â

Hi Bernadette,
Powerful write.  I give you a haiku in response.
The hawk meets the cloud
Together they introspect
In silence they bond
