The Enigma of a Journey

Ā Some carry the weight on their shoulders,
Ā a grief, a regret or a shattered heart
Ā or just the responsibility
Ā of walking the mile or taking the part.
Ā The burden is much lighter
Ā when the past is left behind
Ā and the journey gets easier
Ā as time transforms wounds to scars.
Ā Till my time stands still and frozen
Ā and my breath pallid and dry,
Ā I shall live content
Ā as the love for the journey is everlasting
Ā and my love for you never dies.

Wisdom ! Well said.šš¼
Beautiful poem Bernadete.
I am a believer.
All the best to you.
Thank you Wilford, it's very nice of you!
I have noticed that your last few poems are very sad and was wondering if they're the poet's writings (very good ones by the way) or Will's heart?Ā
I didn't want to ask, but I am now.Ā
Warm wishes, BernadeteĀ
I see life itself as a journey (same viewpoint or principle applies) to all living things, regardless of size, or species ..Ā
I very much like the way you have depicted the progressive nature and influence of time upon life and certain aspects of it (from wound to scar) is a good example of what I am trying to get at ..
Oh' and the unexpected surprises & mysteries encountered along the path, plus the finding and holding onto love ..Ā
All in all, top notch Ma'am .. NevilleĀ
I think you have got it in Ć nutshell here B,
it can only be the love of the journey that gets us through because everything else is transient... as is the journey itself. I love your uniquely lovely style x
Love's eternal.
It is eternal. Yes Yiyan, love is eternal. Our father, mother & sisterĀ all gone now but they live in our hearts, they become loved eternal memories.Ā
Thank you,Ā
