The labyrinth of us

The labyrinth of us

She asked, "Do you still love me?"
Her voice was soft, yet it cut through me.
I paused, not out of anger, but a sorrow so deep,
A wound unspoken, a grief I still keep.

"I don’t know," I murmured, my words heavy with truth,
"For when you walked away, you stole my youth.
You left me clutching shards of what we were,
Lost in the ruins, where love couldn't endure."

"You see, my heart is a labyrinth now,
Twisted corridors I don’t know how
To navigate without feeling the sting
Of memories we built—of everything."

"You’re still there, somewhere, hidden within,
Among the echoes of where we’ve been.
I feel you like a ghost that haunts my soul,
A part of me missing, no longer whole."

"But you’re lost in the shadows of my pain,
Buried deep beneath the weight of the rain.
And though I search, though I fight to see,
I’m unsure if the love I find will set me free."

Perhaps if you stayed, if you hadn’t let go,
We’d still have the fire, the love we’d both know.
But now I wander, unsure and confined,
Hoping one day, you’re the you I’ll find.

Being Me

Love is definitely a labyrinth! Did she walk away, make you feel like this, then ask if you loved her?  (And you said you dint know because she had previously walked away). Or did she ask you if you loved her and because you said you didn't know she walked away making you bitterly regret saying that?  Im not quite sure on the order intended but, either way, this poem feels so sad x
