"But I Am Still Here" (A response to the voice in the mirror)

You came again—
That voice behind the glass,
That cold reflection wearing my sorrow like skin,
Whispering ruin into my heart.
You speak of failure,
Of silence, of shame,
You say I’ve wasted everything—
That no one will come.
But you’re wrong.
I may tremble,
I may break,
I may cry until the night drowns me—
But I. Am. Still. Here.
You mock my prayers,
Say God has gone deaf—
But you forget:
Even in silence,
He holds me.
You say I am nothing—
Yet here I stand, bruised but breathing.
Each breath a rebellion.
Each heartbeat, a battle cry.
You are just a shadow in the mirror,
A ghost of every lie I once believed.
But I am more than your whispers.
I am more than my pain.
You speak in tic toc,
Waiting for my end—
But I speak in hope,
In yet, in still, in maybe tomorrow.
So whisper all you want.
But I have heard another voice—
Gentle.
Strong.
Holy.
And it says:
“You are mine. You are loved. You are not done.”
