to move the proverbial needle
of public opinion

Dishing disinformation
with inhuman frequency
the well funded influencers
who now spew indistinguishable 
from the unbearable bots

They canonize the broken prophets
in social media
thought silo cathedrals
while skewering 
today's designated enemy
with incessant negative fury

Their words a futile rallying cry
to disillusioned rebels
desperately grasping for alibis
as the disjointed mob now declares war
on a disinterested real world
that long ago moved on
to more interesting distractions
