THE VOID REMAINS

I remember mommy

THE VOID REMAINS

I sat alone in the stadium, staring at the outfield
How beautiful, and well kept, the grass is
Evenly trimmed and manicured with precision
Every blade of grass reminds me
Of the stars in the heavens

The wisdom of the Creator subdued my mind
His love for beauty and the Power to create
All things great and small, called into being
By the Power of His Word

As I taught about the two billion trillion stars
That decorates our observable universe
Each one represents the life of a human
My mother comes to mind

A beautiful star that once sat in the circle of time
Showing forth her incomprehensible beauty and love
But for a moment, now pitched like a star recalled
By the Creator
Not into a vacuum of darkness
But forever in His glorious presence.

Gone but not forgotten is the one I call mommy
Whose teachings, love, kindness, and warmth
Has fashioned my life
A star that suddenly vacated the stage of this life
Leaving a forever void in my heart.

How can you ever forget her! My mother left a void too.
This is a beautiful write, Wilford.
Warm wishes,  B
