STONE

STONE

I am becoming someone still
Something you cannot hold

Words are hard to sayĀ
As i sit in my distant mind

I'm aware of my lack of awareness
And the gradual loss of embrace

I just find it difficult to see love
In the space it use to resideĀ

I know I held you before,
On the edge of a morning bed

I know I once talkedĀ
And listened to what you said

But I feel emotion slipping away
As if a stone grows in my throat

And I hate coming home to silence
My quiet lips from which no pin drops.Ā

A scene many of us have experienced, you certainly don't hold your punches when it comes to emotional attachment, I could feel the desperation of pain and the deafening silence. I'd say even with a stone in the throat communication is best. Then a way can be found to go forward or to get closure. Superb in imagery and emotion. 🌹
