Is it possible that science has changed the world and its face forever?
I often see my friends going on pension, yet they are so youngÂ
when I was a kid I attended the parties of those
who were old and were finally finished with their alarm clocks foreverÂ
through a childâs eyes, they looked like old shriveled prunes
but now it seemsâŚÂ
as I've grown older myselfÂ
pensioners are a new breed of youngÂ
be it young at heart or physically fighting fitÂ
something has slowly but surely paved our way of life
leaving us if we are very lucky with health and a bit of wealth
to actually enjoy our later yearsÂ
with more opportunities than ever before
science and research playing an enormous part in this realityÂ
sometimes I think humans don't understand this fact?
keeping our world clean truly is in the greater interest of all mankind?Â
and all we have to do as humans, is to honor this fact?Â
leaving our planet with clean airÂ
clean streets and clean minds
our planet is not for the convenience of nuclear waste
that's being thrown into holes under goodness knows where?
with the official nod of one of our pensioners
who holds a title of what should be of dignity and pride yet it's not?
who may one day decide to press a red button and kill it all?
life has so much more to offer than war?
otherwise whatâs the purpose of anything?

I became antiwar from decades of pink Floyd lol
lol, and I with John Lennon, peace and love dear Rory, enjoy this magnificent planet in all its glory, whist we can. đ¤
It's true Roger is a bit darker than John. Antiwarers notwithstanding, for me, George lol
Pink Floyd,Another brick in the wall, one of my all time favourite songs especially the guitar.Â
Hey R... I'm totally with you on the Floyd thing... out of this world musically and lyrically x
'Be The Change.' A Nice Write Shirley.
We should be so grateful that we get to live long lives thanks to science yet there is always a human that wants the world in a dark place đ˘ we really should all be able to.live in harmony but because we are human we cannot. Thank you dear B.S đšÂ
To quote system of a down
I couldn't agree more with your comment NE... and once you know you can't 'un' know can you. x
For one single child to suffer, warrants the complete destruction of mankind, if I had the capability to eliminate mankind from earth, I would do it, without hesitation. I know for some, this seems a bit of an overreaction but right now there are children starving on this planet while the rest of us build bombs and pay our mortgage.Â
I know what you mean, there is a dislodge of moral and dignity and fairness, I have been a teacher of children for the past 33 years, I cannot believe on one hand we teach the greatness of our planet and how to preserve it yet our world leaders behave like spoilt brats in prams throwing threats bombs and even worse around, the world has become much darker than it has ever been in my 50 years existence and it's all because of money and power. đ˘ Thank you dear N.E I really appreciate your most valued opinion. đšÂ
Instead of celebrating what the people of our world have achieved and living longer we have all this horror of war and climate change and even the threat of nuclear war. Sad really sad. Â
You know there are so many topics in this marvelous write Shirley. I really really agree with NE... the beauty of the world has been wiped out for me too... it really is all about the money. As for retirement again it's perspective. Those who've spent 50 years in heavy manual jobs do not have the health to enjoy retirement at 67. Oh there is so much I could say here... technology??Â
They are spraying the skies here in UK...Â
The arrogant few are fucking with our atmosphere.... no more to say except fabulous write my friend... really thought provoking X
Just a few weeks ago 10 famous women in the USA went to space on a joyride then they rant about keeping our planet safe lol I totally agree with everything you have said, it's just not level in any case it's all down to cooperative and money sickens me too. The retirement age is given in 40 years in Italy so if you started work like me, when I was 17 the retirement age is 57 with in today's world is extraordinary but that also depends on maternity and time spent in unemployment so each individual is different, I'll be 67 when I am able to retire although they have allowed my UK fund to be counted. Some of my friends are so young but are not looking forward to the time they have free simply because our world is broken. Thank you dearest Marion for your thoughts and discussion point â¤ď¸
