Arc

The sky is clear.
That's what allowed the cold snapĀ
To roll inĀ

If I knocked my right handĀ
I was reminded it was broken.

Winter this yearĀ
Was much lonelier than passed winters.
Had I grown older?

Certainly life spares me growing moreĀ
Cold blooded;
I began to understandĀ

Reflections in the water.

Still as the years go on
Books go unread, my hairĀ
A bigger mess,

The cold not helping to get out of bed.
No infections of the heart like loveĀ
To speak of ----

Not any attachments.
Rather greater understanding of howĀ
Life isĀ

Becomes the arc of coming backĀ
To how onceĀ
I used to draw myself inĀ

Where do I start?

'No infections of the heart like love
To speak of'... and last 3 lines

Unique and perfect x

And M I answered B's comment and not yours. Might I be taking you for granted? It happens I'm repeating some not so original themes here, the curvature of an arc, reflections in the water. Not feeling this one as my personal best

You are always too harsh on yourself R... I don't feel poetry is about competition it's about expressing ourselves in our own way... you do it well x

You got a cold snap, but received
a clear sky. Life gives and life takes. Super well written.
Take care, Rory. Ā  BĀ

I think you already understand this very well.
Based on your writings, you talk about life’s taking but you also have gratitude for what you have. This accepting is
the understanding.
Happy writings, Ā  BĀ

Rory you are so much more than how you paint yourself, we have all been lost at some point, maybe get back to not being lost, I just found out that I have not one family member that actually cares anything about me, it's me now just me and I'm going on with love in my heart just as Liverpool sings. 🌹 Do the same my dear poet..
