Poem -

Nightlight

At night there is a little light.
It reflects right off the moon.
The moon is in the shape of a
   banana.
Lays like a rocking horse
Back and forth, too.

She is not accompanied by too
Many other lights.
The star are all gone dark
In a city like ours.
It sort of sits alone up there,
Keeping to herself.

In some ways it is better
Than the sun.
You can't be burned by it.
And when it's full and round
It's like an eye that watches
Over you.

You can name her if you wish
But remember she is bold
And wild.
You can't exactly hold her in your
   palm
And tame the heart
As if she were a girl.

The womanhood of the rock
Up there is smarter than a child.
You should listen instead
To what she says.
It might save and defend
Against an enemy like yourself.

“The moon is like an eye that watches over you.”

Wonderful reflection and imagination I love the thought of her looking over us, I always imagine she winks too, isn't it funny she will never let us down, she is there night after night, like the sun is, in the day even though he may hide behind clouds,  on deep reflection I could stay here all day reflecting on the miracle of what is up there. Exceptional work my friend. 🌹 🌙  And may I say a perfect title too.
