Scenic Dreams

Scenic Dreams

Once scenic dreams now swing like silk and flesh from the naked trees.

Your scabbed lips and needle ridden skin are teasing for the raven caressing the naked trees

A blood-stained twig on the bed of brittle leaves.

A mass grave of tiny angels fallen from the heavens from the naked trees.

Rot beautiful creature all lifeless and serene.

A patch of scorched earth.

Naked beneath the naked trees.

The hum of the highway, a funeral hymn.

A rusted-out heart, sinking deep in the whim

Of the endless asphalt, a cracked, silver stream.

A thousand forgotten scenic dreams.

The sun bakes the oil, a sweet, black perfume.

A ghost in the dust of a forgotten room.

A stain on the fabric, a beautiful blight.

Dying in the glare of the endless streetlight
