For celebrity culture in today's modern age once seemed endemic but  fans/followers/wannabees eventually wise up, see the light or even better see the true worth of a celeb when his/her mask slips.
Love your delicious closing line, for that's worth five stars alone! 

And a wise person once said..
Celebrity-worship and hero worship should not be confused.
Yet we confuse them every day, and by doing so we come dangerously close to depriving ourselves of all real models. We lose sight of the men and women who do not simply seem great because they are famous but famous because they are great.

And Sparrowsong have you read J.K Rowling's (who held a dignified silence for seven years) recent stinging social response to Emma Watson trans rights/gender identity row, after Emma's constant death by a thousand cuts sniping, badgering remarks on any media platform available against Rowling which went on for many years.
Wow! Talk about putting somebody in their place.

Agree completely with your words and Shauns S. People with huge egos have never deserved worship in my opinion and so can honestly say I could never understand the fad !  Great write x
