I WONDER

I WONDER

Just a few lines,
Just a few words,
Nothing that explodes with imagery,
Nothing that trumpets the sound of a hummingbird.

Just an unspoken thought that hovers in my mind
But grows by the minute.

Will the expression of love fade away
As Alzheimer’s increases.
I wonder.

Wilford Barker.
