"Favorite book again" By Ben Goode 2013 (c).

A story book falls from a shelf.
The pages open randomly.
And makes a triangle on the floor.
Lost in its chapters.
Discarded.
Perhaps a fairy tale gone wrong?
Unread. Mistreated.
No happy ending?
In limbo.
Maybe not good enough to read?
A housewife's exasperation.
Picked up as a chore, placed in a box.
Waiting.
Garage sale.
Box is opened.
Sunlight.
In another hand.
Fingertips sifting through the pages.
Eyes read again with interest.
Sold.
Taken to a new home.
Adult reads book to child.
Eyes close.
Book on chair. Door closes. Lights out.
Book falls, and makes a triangle on the floor.
A little hand reaches for it,
Smiling.
And reads her favorite book again.
