Fire

The room was so hot, Yet all i couldĀ hear was laughter coming from down the hall. I was laying in a bed that did not seem like is was my own. I slowly got to my feet and i saw a little girl standing in the door way. Her presence startled me. It was my cousin Trinity. The expression she wore on her face frightened me to the core. "What's Wrong?" Was all I could say. "The flames are coming." I didn't know what she meant by this. Panic set in and I started pacing around. Everything looked so normal. My family looked so happy, too happy. Was this what she was talking about? I was so confused, I went back to my room and I realized what she meant. "The flames are not coming, their here." I whispered to her. My room was filled with smoke. I knew that I needed to get everyone to safety, but it was like the harder I screamed, no one could hear me. I felt like I was mute. Trinity looked at me and I knew something was wrong. I saw the smoke but could not smell it. I looked at the bed and realized I was forever asleep. "Go to your brother, besides me he is the only one that can see you." I ran to him.Ā "Kevin the house, it's on fire, you need to get everyone out of here. You need to save them." He looked at me and started crying he knew it was already too late for me, I wanted to cry but I could only scream at him so save our family. "You need to get them and run." They're were all screaming, running around trying to find a way out of this smoke that hungered for the lives. My brother found a way for them to escape their fates and when he looked back, I knew it was goodbye. For that single tear tore me apart inside.Ā
When I woke up from this dream my heart was racing. My face was covered in tears. It felt so real that I was scared to go back to sleep. My biggest fear is losing my family and this dream screamed loss. I did not like it at all, but I know the best way to let go of horrible things is to write them down, share them because in thee end, you're never alone.Ā
