Left Behind in the Shadows Eye
Tossing and turning, the night light burnt out, and only shadows from the moon are in my dream
There is a tunnel and I can not see, I find a match in my pocket and I make a flame
No one is here, but I hear the crying moans of agony, lost souls have lived and in the shadows eye they are left behind
When I reach out in front of me, I feel a shape, it is a small child, small framed
I can hear someone call her name, "Madeline" in a whimpering voice, then suddenly I hear her crying
Sobbing, like a mother who has lost her child, the frightened child now slips away, without belief
I now feel comfort, as the ghostlike figures fade away, and suddenly I hear the laughter of children
Now all shadows are left behind, and the feeling of love and passion are in my heart, as the tunnel now becomes bright with light
Dreaming of Madeline and the lost children of the past, now safe in their mothers arms, shall open my eyes with relief

Dear Nancy Mcgowin,
More than a dream, your narration of this " Left Behind in the Shadows Eye" is a poem in its theme and content. I love it, My applause, My love.
Those on the physiology side of the "why we dream" argument see dreams as only nonsense that the brain creates from fragments of images and memory. For centuries, however, people have looked at their dreams as both omens and insights into their own psyches. Many poets and writers think dreams are full of symbolic messages that may not be clear to us on the surface. But, if we dig deeper and think about what is going on in our lives, we can usually come up with an interpretation that makes sense..
Your dream is now in my favorites folder
Regards & Love
