Love hurts

My cross I boreΒ 
As each man must

My back laid bareΒ 
For sins curseΒ 

The volume of my lifeΒ 
Slipped awayΒ 
With the first lash

But I never forgotΒ 
The power of forgivenessΒ 

And the depthsΒ 
Of God’s love.
