Poem -

Street Talk.

Weather cold.
Sky rainy.
Light dark.
Time of day afternoon.
Walking through the city streets.
Cars noisy and their exhaust poisonous.
People walk their eyes blank.
They just want to get from A to B.
Shop windows full of clothes and jewellery.
Cafes full of loud talking coffee drinkers.
Down and outs lie drunk in a street corner.
For their wellbeing no one gives a damn.
Police cars speed by with sirens screaming.
They're off to another uncivilised crime.
Soon night time will fall and these streets will be empty of people.
Only the lonely will be left walking them.
Yes i am one of those only the lonely.
Who walks these streets until tiredness calls.
Then i am off to my lonely room.
Where i sleep and dream of happier days.
