Percentages aren’t always totally  honest…

As an adult if you steal a child, they call it kidnapping.

But what about the parents who stole our childhood?

The one time where the victims get a life-sentence! 

I envy the kids who only have images and memories of Rudolph having a red nose and not their Mom.

I envy the kids that can watch The Simpsons and not get PTSD when Homer chokes Bart.

I envy the kids… the list could forever go on, the reality is I don’t envy them at all.

I envied the kids that I knew when I was a kid, even the ones that thought they had it bad!

But I never let the kids of my childhood ever know, because that would be a weakness.

I had to be tough and never let my feelings show, it only led to more pain.

At least that’s what I was shown at home, that’s all I know.
