A Dolphin's Cry

Do dolphins cry?
Would you see their tears if they did?
Would you hear a thousand echos 
of solemn cries
and sadness
through such vast, blue abyss?

Would you seek their thoughts,
hear their truths
or attempt comfort
just in case?
or would assumption
lead compassion
to sadly be misplaced?

If dolphins cried
would the world depict a different stage,
and decisions
made through blindness
be carefully unmade?
Or would we seek the comfort found in the norm
gripped to all we know,
harnessed by the thinking
that all that's real
is on show?

Do dolphins cry?
Could we change our views if they did?
Could blindness be revoked,
kindness be granted
and selfishness rid?
I often ponder how differently we'd all reside
Oh how I ponder
one day...
