MR KNOW IT ALL

What a show off

MR KNOW IT ALL

Every village has one, some short, some tall
An interrupter of conversations, Mr Know It All.
He has an opinion on just about everything
Think he is wiser than Solomon, the wisest man ever lived.

He speaks with the authority of a fool
He loves to brag about his years in school
But deep within his facade, so tall,
Lay insecurities, doubts, and all.

For no one knows everything under the sun,
Not even Mr. Know It All, the wise one.
His knowledge was vast, his intellect grand,
But humility was something he could not understand.

So he continued to preach and to teach,
Blowing his trumpet aloud
His attitude is the same with one person or in a crowd
He lives to correct everyone's speech
No conversation is out of his reach.

I wish that one day, Mr. Know It All, in all his glory,
Learns that true wisdom tells a different story
For it is not in knowing everything there is to know,
But in being humble and willing to grow.

So let us not be like Mr. Know It All,
Who are always ready to point out one's flaws
But let us seek knowledge with an open heart.

For in the pursuit of wisdom, we will find,
Growth and enlightenment are intertwined.

Being Me

I was always taught, "The louder they shout, the less they know."  It was in regard to equestrianism but I have learned that it is true in all things.  Your poem is so true!
