Untitled

She hadn't seen it before 
But she can see it it now
How could she have missed it
In this black place
Surely it was there before 

It's high up the wall
And she's still only small 
She can climb
Scale the walls
The dry brick
With her bare hands and feet 

She keeps falling 
But she knows it's worth it
The cuts and bruises 
They'll pay off this time
She can love this pain
It's her way out

And she's climbing higher
She's stronger
With every fall 
She gets more confident 
She's the master of 
This wall

She's made it
She can see through it now
It's dusty 
But she can see the day
The light
Her perspective has changed
 
The window
