Poem -

Empty room

Going through these days alone
and always missing you
isn’t easy to live through.

I was missing you,
breaking on my bedroom floor,
collecting the broken pieces of my heart,
wishing I could be out of my body,
just to escape the pain for a moment.

I was missing you
when my dog left this world,
and when I couldn’t find the words
to tell my sister.

I was missing you
when all of my friends stayed by my side
and helped me get through that day,
but you were nowhere to be found.

I was missing you
whenever life’s inconveniences happened,
desperately wanting to be in your arms,
feeling the comfort you always gave me.

I was missing you
on the dance floor, celebrating new beginnings,
surrounded by people happy to be by my side.

I was missing you,
celebrating my college acceptance,
moving to another country,
and starting a new life.

I was missing you,
looking at every sunset,
listening to every song,
walking by every place of ours.

And as time passes by,
I don’t know what is worse:
Missing you at my worst,
or
missing you at my best.

Being Me

Obviously written from the heart... and I am truly sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is a terrible pain that nothing can erase. Love, true love, whater the type  is always with you. You've nailed the root of the suffering that never goes here — especially so in that very last line x
