Poem -

weren't in no chuch

I'd like to say
That god went and cheated
And I weren't about looking
I weren't in no church

I were staring through black lace
Like an old witch, accursed

Only knew it for sure
As I followed your hearse

And maybe
Some folks won't like it
Me calling god out but

The hell with pretence
I've a mind now to shout

god    YOU !!!!    cheated,

M ~

And when you do no one could blame you. I like the use of were instead of was. For me it sets the writer in a certain geographical area. The lines that had the greatest emotional impact on me were "I were staring through black lace like an old witch, accursed." Those lines really moved and touched me Marion. And yes you are allowed to say that. xx

This is so full of emotions, Marion.
It was early morn when I was reading this. The coffee got bitter
and the birds stopped singing.
For one moment. Much love,  B
