Getting Through It

Getting Through It

I drink
because I can

I sleep around
to suppress
oppressive loneliness

These prescribed medications
make my bleak life
a little more bearable

So many crutches
so little progress
in my Quixotic quest
to be a well adjusted
respectable member
of our judgemental tribe

Tis why I scribe
weird poetry I guess

We all needĀ
our little coping devices
