Terminal Truth

Terminal Truth

Please pick up
all the loose pieces
after my inevitable
self destruction

I'm out of excuses

Exhausted all my best trite alibis

The lurking truth
that will eventually
end me
waits patiently
deep within the walls fortified
by ancient rationalizations

When I die
take my reliable denials
along with the convenient lies

I repeated ad nauseum
and scatter them
with my ashes
into the indifferent wind
