Diamond Eyes

You are faded now
As if a dream
Your name but an echo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And more often a scream
boy with the diamonds
set deep in his eyes
do those diamond eyes see me
do they gaze down from skies
Do the skies hold you prisoner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
locked away from my arms
Boy with eyes diamond
Set fearless and calm
Where's gone the babeĀ
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
that was suckled to sleep
The young boy and man
That I had thought to keep
you are faded now
~~~~~~~~~~~~
just as lost as the dreams
that have long since been
Dreamed between
~~~~~~~~~~~~
cries and more screams
One's eyes are the wings of your soul. Lovely Poetry.
Thanks Jac x
A modern sounding one, solemn, and slow paced. Gently put, hinting experience, perhaps?
Thankyou. Spot on. What are we but experience R? Good bad and ugly ... hugs x
Diamond eyes, an Angel now. Such emotion as you always give everything to your poetry, power imagery emotion nothing is missing except the very thing you are writing about. Kudos my dear Marion. š¹Ā
Thankyou lovely lady... appreciated as always my friend x
I've read the poem three times. And it still resonates. It's a powerful expression of loss and a delicate portrayal of nostalgia. The poetry here is great. Thanks for posting.
I truly thankyou for reading Anwar, your comment and insight means a lot x
