constantly misreads

and all the subtle nuances
of their indirect verbal cues
that trip up my clueless literal ass
with every misinterpretation

Such is the level of my ignorance
I would probably be better served
to apply application
of the opposite translation
whenever I dare to venture 
into the always dangerous realm
of intergender
garbled communications
