1940s WEEKEND

Both sexes dressed in immaculate attire
So much to see and greatly admire
Going back in time and history for a 1940s weekend
Sheringham High Street was the place to be seen my friend

Nurses were there smartly turned up in blue and white
Soldier boys too coming home from the fight
Beware of the spivs and the gangsters too
The coppers tried to stop them dressed up in blue

The sun shone brightly on that autumn September day
In the company of my mum made everything better than okay
So thank you Sheringham for a day we won't forget
We will be going again next year that's a sure fire bet
