skin wrapped clingfilm tight
round boney ribcage frame
unfed hungering in foul
confinement fraught
with dread fear afraid
 
heard tales true stories told
of Muslim men and boys
young and old massacred
at Mladic’ cruel command
taken single-filed frog-marched
into forest deep and one by one
murdered by pistol shot to head
fathers sons brothers others
in mass grave lie dead

stood outside Court* today
to hear the Court’s decision
that Ratko Mladic bloodluster
butcher of Bosnia
will spend his life in prison
for crimes he has done
