Poem -

'99

We were just kids
High school, we lived for each other
Hall pass just to get a look
That fat man sings his song about a Hook
Wasn't old enough to drive yet
My walls covered in posters of girls I'd be sure to get
I'd sneak over just to hold your hand
Baby whatever happened to that kid from the marching band?
Now when I hold her I think of you
Guess she'll do, hope you're doing fine

My body's here, but my head's back in '99

I read something in the trades
Bout the boys that cut up a woman with their blades
Underneath that print, saw your just married ad
Hope he gives you something more baby
All the things I never had
My dreams of making it big never came true
That's ok, cause screaming kids just ain't me
Making my way pushing carts and pushing thirty
Funny how the answers come but never in time

I'm here, but my thoughts date back to '99

Aww baby take me back
To them days of feeling you and feeling fine
Take me back...take me back...take me back
To our place in '99

What's up Anthony?

The days of (99) placed in mind forever a movie on the grey screens of our lives set to play over and over again.A place in time etched and by no means, shall it be removed nor forgotten....Great place and time for me to have  been back then as well....Job well done (Anth.)
