A BEGGAR'S PLEA

A beggar's plea wants a meal to eat
While you're at it maybe some shoes for his feet
A beggar's plea requests a bed for the night
While you're at it maybe a match for his fag to light

A beggar's plea would be grateful for loose change
While you're at it don't look at him like he's strange
A beggar's plea politely asks for any old clothes
While you're at it a hot drink would be welcome I suppose

A beggar's plea always falls on deaf ears while you shop
While you're at it he would be thankful if you could stop
