A beginning and an end (edited)

A beginning and an end (edited)

Oh my God
This is life
As if death could not hear
Could not hear the living screams
As if red petals in the sunshine could not love
As if the persistent sun upon the tired earth could not let go
As if you could not breathe in this broken petal, once whole
As if this concrete path
Meandering past  falllen fences
As if these broken spirits
Wandering into eternity
Oh my God these mountains
These tame hills, these deep valleys
That call these spirits back
As if these smiles and these tears
These children with their gummy mouths and exhausted mothers
As if a heart is rested by the night
As if a hurting foot has a beginning and an end
These are the times now past
As if ever spoke to never
As bespoke sang to the truth of wedded bliss
Do you take this fine petal
To be yours
As if
   As if
       Life once called your name

Thank you Tony - I edited the poem as it had some disjointedness - I think it's better without the imperfections - sometimes I'm
too hasty to publish and need to take care
and look at what I do. I appreciate your kind comments on my poem. Best from Jai:)
