Poem -

Today We Live

Today We Live

We are born from the oceans and the seas,
transform into ashes, then wash back to the sea,
With clenched hands we implore for more…
More life and more time!
Tomorrow the skies turn dark,
We rage, rage...
and with burning eyes we hold dearly,
clinging to this thing called life
till’ the time we go back into the ocean’s arms.
Today we rage, rage, and beseech for
more life and a little more time,
We dearly hold on,
as we are not ready yet for the waters,
Today we want the light!

After thought

When is classical ever bad.

Oxymoron?

Oxymoron? You could say that. And I would say…
Your review is “awfully good”. Okay, all said & done, thank you Rory for taking the time to send me your (always lovely) thoughts.

Being Me

A rich tapestry of a poem. Love the repetition of rage. Rage, rage ... it sets the poems tone beautifully x

A fine poem from the perspective of those who send their dead to cremation and throw ashes to the ocean.
yes I’m those of the many who wish to live more than die yet.
Kudos for the muse.!

Thank you and hello, S.
You’re right on your view, I appreciate your input.
And my own reflection on this,
is…since we’re energy, and energy cannot be destroyed,
we blend in and mix with everything. And the oceans are part of it, so, we’ll eventually go back to the waters.
By the way, I did read your narrative about beautiful India.
Very good, well done.  B

Bernadette, shades and echoes of Dylan Thomas offered up and superbly done.
Good to see!!
Crafted in your own way, love your  'clenched hands' and 'burning eyes'.
And water the source of life.
To bid return.
Terrific writing!
So much potent imagery displayed and after reading- it feels good to be alive!

Shaun, what a lovely visit, I am
delighted! And the best part of it
is…You feeling good to be alive.
That’s why we share our poetry,
to feel the emotions, to evoke emotions in each other, to exchange our thoughts.
Thank you and stay well,
Bernadete
