A belated belated birthday wish.

A belated belated birthday wish.

Well what do you know? It's happened again!
And this time there's nobody else I can blame....
Mum has a conscience as clear as the snow,
because she preempted...and called....so I'd know.
For added precaution I mastered my phone
to remind me each morning, before I left home,
that soon I would need to get up off my bum
and head into town, to search for 'the one!'
A card so immense, so awesome, so fab,
proclaiming that you are the number one dad!
So now you can see how I planned with such care,
to ensure, on the day, a card WOULD be there!!!
Instead you were left feeling terribly sad,
and once more 'mea culpa', I'm awfully bad!
Just riddled with guilt as I weep and I wail,
at my memory and it's spectacular fail.
How to resolve this, I haven't a clue?
For it seems I am doomed whatever I do.
So all that is left is my sad, wretched plea....
Oh daddy so dearest, please forgive me???

Hahaha that's what I did LAST year! Had to open it and send him pics of it .....
I am terrible at remembering but a few words or rhyme fortunately seem to appease people. I am getting a dab hand at poetic apology now lol. Thanks so much for taking the time to read it. Much appreciated.xo
