A Bridge To Your Heart
It was a soft incline which drew me towards you,
a magnet between shades of green, gold, red and blue;
you can not fight destiny, it's waiting out there,
to guide you to someone for whom you really care.
I'd been to many places that had beauty so serene,
but you weren't there at the time, nowhere to be seen;
I was chasing ghosts, spirits, until I began to kneel,
there was no need for dismay because one day you'd be real.
We kissed in the moonlight and stayed close in sunlight,
those colours cast welcoming shadows, then went bright,
this was our world which would always cast out doubt,
not always achievable but really what love was about.
We could sleep amongst the flowers, protect us from cool night air,
find your incline, then sleep together reading Beaudelaire.

Hey TERRY!......after reading this again I came to another conclusion regarding this write......it seems there may be an inference here that made the whole thing shine in a different light......that of dealing with a love that has passed on and in using the power of nature itself became able to communicate with a love that has passed......a mystical love involving a spectre!!.......with this in mind......your poem shone even more brightly!!......I am your cyber-friend and ever-admirer!!......T xo : )
Hi Tony,
Yes, maybe there is another spectre - I'm reading it again myself!
Love,
Terry & Anne.

Hello Terry, when I read the first stanza, coupled with the picture. It took my mind straight to Monet and his painting of the bridge in his garden. He would paint the same bridge throughout the year, to show the transformation in seasons with the bridge. Your own poem here shows a transformation as time journeys the seeker of love to their eventual happiness. A spiritual awakening seems to birth in your words. The blossoming and realisation of what love is and what it is to be loved. Like Monet and his paintings that went from pastels to murky colours (due to his cataracts) then back from the murky shadows into full colour again, you take the reader between the ever transitions of love, and growth. Beautifully crafted Terry
