A CALCULATED GUESS

A CALCULATED GUESS

These are difficult
I love you times..
My heart wants to cleave
But there is doubt in my mind

What am I supposed to do
Seeing that I'm still in love with you

Your smile, your eyes, your alibis
Is not enough to hold my heart
I told you that from the very start
Why jump in, if you don't plan to win

Love is a two way street
But we must go in the same direction
Anything less, is an emotional disaster
And can cause unstable affections

What do you see in me,
My feelings screams
At the way you've been treating me
Maybe I'm not what you were expecting
So why hang on to what is defective

These are difficult
I love you times..
Another dark day in my tortured life
Like having my heart removed
Without anesthetics
only a dull and rusted knife.

Wilford Barker.

I can relate to this " difficult times " yes indeed. You have a way with words WB, I can always feel the emotions with validity , hopefully with time it gets less difficult , it seems it has for me personally but I still miss her ..... ~Rob
