Poem -

A Child

A child so free
Nothing can hold them down
They have the word at their finger tips
Dreaming of a place called neverland
A place that will soon be forgotten
As they get older they loose the freeness
Saying things like “I can’t do it”
But I say YOU can do it
But they don’t listen
They stop dreaming
Now as a 15 year old
They no longer play in the snow
The snow they never stopped playing in
The neverland that doesn’t exist
But now they dream of a maze
A maze that they shape
They think and do a way to fit the maze
They only think about what others want
At the age of 20 they find love
The neverland is lost
The carefreeness is lost
It won’t ever come back
The things have become reality
But my mind is no longer a maze
It’s a road that is shaped so perfectly
That nothing can change the road
A neverland is gone
And now a maze
And a road is what exists
