Poem -

A child’s harsh reality

Tears stream down my face,
as the blade fills the space,
the space made for bracelets to sit,
not for a blade to slit.

But alas this is our harsh reality,
a reality where kids are cutting instead of watching tv.
Where parents think their child is safe asleep bed,
but their really lying there with dark thoughts swimming through  their head.

No one should feel this way,
Not in this day and age.
Yet sadly this is true,
and is happening around you.
Day in and day out,
no one hears when they scream and shout.
A cry in pain,
and a cry in vain.
They want to talk but fear the reaction,
so they bottle it up and fake their satisfaction.

Being Me

Such sadness...and you are right. Self harm is on the increase and always done so secretly. You've painted such a dark picture here but it is a picture that is needed to be shared. Thankyou for this awesome awareness write. I hope that you are okay x
