Poem -

A CHRISTMAS STAR

And I think in this moment
How fortunate we are
As we gather once more
In peace
Beneath a Christmas star

Which bestows it's kindly light
Upon the snowy night
In the glow of a family
That tragically hopeless
Hope
Of all times brittle humanity

And it's ok, it's alright
It feels alright...

All anger forgotten
All hurts unspoken
A year lived and passed

In all the vivid colours
Of the northern lights blast

This most precious of moments
Temporary and fleeting
To preserve
For keeping
To store in that place
Where the family ghosts
All jostle for space

In truce and peace and love
And hope
The troubles of new year
Distant and far
Leaving only the now
This flawed and perfect
Moment
Beneath a Christmas star.

What a lovely, lovely poem. It is just so special.  While I was reading it for some reason the song Silent Night  came to my mind and on the reread
I was humming it to myself.  I can only say that you captured a feeling a reverence that is human. That is our response to the glory of the divine and the glory of being human.. We get up every day knowing it all ends in death. If we did not have hope how could we do it every day.
Merry Christmas and may we all find that star.
