A clock on a tree?

So I sat down on the grassy ground when it was half past three

Now as I watched in puzzlement, coz this timepiece upon the wood

Was ticking anticlockwise and I wondered why it would..

But then again, who did this belong to ? Coz there was nobody around

Just me and some wandering black-faced sheep, making a bleating sound

Perhaps the pixies put it there as they ran around the tree

Well whoever it was must have wanted time to go backwards, and they earned my curiosity..

So of course I watched this clock for absolutely ages

Until the day had almost turned to night, and the hands reversed in stages

Then all of a sudden and from out of nowhere, I heard a muffled sound

As this anxious upright animal, looked at the clock which I had accidentally found..

“No time to stop and say hello I’m late, I’m late I’m late”

Oh my golly gosh, I tried to talk to this little white Rabbit but he said he couldn’t wait

Well at least I had some answers, though I was so shocked at what I’d seen

And I had a fair old idea where he was going to, but not a clue where he had been

He was obviously on his way to that Mad Hatter’s tea party, a very important date
