A CRY IN THE DARK

I am inclosed with darkness all around me 
My body shivers with fear
My enemy's face is hidden from my eyes 
And his voice of death rides upon the wind 

He has traveled from distant shores to my door 
Creating a pathway of death 
His origin is one of old
And his destruction history will never forget 

I am shut in by the powers that be
Unable to see the sun
Held captive by that which I cannot see 
Isolated from friends and love ones 

Where shall I run to, where shall I hide 
I am tossed like a chaff against the wind 
My heart is consumed with fear all day long 
And my eyes a fountain of tears 

I will look to the heavens 
I shall call upon the Lord 
Maybe he will hear my cry 
For my enemy is too strong for me
And without His help
I will surely die.
